Colon Hydrotherapy is where we begin your cleansing and healing journey at Digestive Wellness Center. Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as Colon Therapy, Colonics, and Colon Irrigation, is simply a gentle inflow of double carbon block filtered and structured water into the colon, with a single use speculum, and an outflow of water with encrusted fecal matter.
We use our "Gravity Flow" Closed System, which is the most therapeutic of all systems available and has been corroborated thousands of times over the years by his clients. The system connects directly to the sewer, and results in a completely clean and odor-free environment. As the name implies there is very little inflow pressure which results in a very deep and gentle experience.
This system has been carefully built, by Reuel Ari, owner of DWC, from a system created and used by many Nature Cure Physicians for decades. He was fortunate to be introduced to this system of Colon Therapy at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and gives credit to Robert Stevens ND/Director for its design.
The Colon is a map of the body much the same as the feet, hands, eyes, and ears with reflex points throughout, so you will be experiencing colon reflexology during your colonic as the water presses the reflex points while flowing in. Specialized abdominal massage will also be offered as a way of relaxation and gently softening and helping move stubborn congestion to release and evacuate out of the colon.
As part of every Colon Therapy session, a detailed evaluation of your digestive and elimination function is shared with you. Where appropriate, suggestions to support proper digestion, assimilation and elimination will be given. Included in this may be dietary supplementation or other stress reducing lifestyle habit recommendations. This supported by handouts and of course the information and guidance on this website.
Colon Therapy is Restorative
Many nature cure practitioners have suggested that we cleanse at the change of seasons. Norman Walker, considered to be the grandad of juicing and colon therapy in the USA, recommends that everyone have a series of 5 colonics twice per year, in the spring and fall, and to do one colonic at the change from spring to summer and fall into winter. This protocol has worked very well for me and my clients over the last 23 years.

What should I expect on my first colon therapy visit?

What is involved during the colon therapy process?
First of all, you'll be encouraged to take some full breaths to relax. Soft music is playing and you're laying on one of our frequency mats that helps you relax more deeply. Now, a single use, well lubricated speculum is gently inserted into the anus while you are laying on your left side. Once inserted you'll roll onto your back and water will begin to slowly flow into the colon. A complete colonic session takes about 35-45 minutes with your practitioner present evaluating your process.
